Product Description
Steel Strapping
SJF carries two kinds of Steel strapping - regular duty (RD) and high tensile (HT). Our steel strapping meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM d 3953, the Association of American Railroads General Rule 15, and Port of Rotterdam Specifications.
Regular duty (RD) is a low carbon steel strapping produced for low to medium duty applications such as package reinforcement, unitizing, bundling, palletizing and box closure.
High tensile (HT) is high carbon steel strapping that is heat treated to produce a product which combines high strength and elongation (stretch) for shock resistance. Typical applications are unitizing compressed fiber bales, securing heavy steel coils and open top railcar or trailer loads. High tensile strapping provides more footage per coil than heavy duty sizes of comparable break strength.
Steel strapping will secure a maximum pallet weight of 4,000 lbs. and is best used on non-compressible loads, sharp edges and package security.
The painted and waxed finish on this strapping makes it corrosion resistant and allows the strap to flow easily through machines and around packages, promoting uniform strap tension over the entire load.
